Book Design → I Long for a Place I Never Been too

a retelling of Mexican history through my perspective and knowledge.

“Mexico Lindo y Querido: I Long for a Place I Never Been too” is my Junior Capstone that retells Mexican History  from my perspective and what I was taught in school. It is sort of a satire or poltical commentary about how the American Education system really does not teach students anything other then American History up until college. It wasn’t until I began college were I really wanted to find out my history - this is probably due to App State being a PWI. But I found out it’s kind of hard learning hundreds of years worth of history by myself. I was inspired by “Karel Martens Re-Printed Matters” book layout as well as CYMK halftones - there is something about it that makes histroical photos look modern. This book is an ongoing project.
