Branding Project Imposter Studios
a digital community for graphic designers who feel like imposters.
Imposter Studios is a digital community for graphic designers who feel like imposters. Our mission is to provide a supportive space where designers can connect, collaborate, and grow, overcoming feelings of doubt and insecurity. Through resources, discussions, and humor, we empower designers to embrace their talents and confidently pursue their creative goals.
A lot of graphic design influencer’s are mostly cis-white males and there is little to no diversity in graphic design. Imposter Studios aims to diverse the graphic design industry as well as have the hard conversations such as imposter syndrome, lack of diverse education, political issues - as well as bringing in humor.
The “Imposter” font is made up of hand drawn letters that various in width, height, and style. Since an imposter is someone trying to pretend to be something they are not, this font is doing the same thing - it does not know what it wants to be. But that is the beauty of this font. Hand drawing the various fonts were fun yet challenging as well. I had to think outside the box, breaking down the essential strokes of what makes a letter recognisable.
Imposter Studios evolved drastically from what the mission statement was originally in March 2024. During that month, App State’s silence on the matter of Wey Hall reached everyone on campus as well going viral on Tik Tok. I posted on the Imposter Studios instagram account to speak out on the matter, creating designs using App State’s branding mixed with protest aesthetics. Imposter Studios was a voice for App State’s art students as well as a news source on other matters App State is staying silent for.
IMPOSTER STUDIOS IS RETURNING TO ITS ORIGINAL MISSION AND CREATING BEYOND DOUBT IN 2025!
